Glacier National Park has a variety of lodging options, as well as over 10 established campgrounds.

Park Lodging Reservations

Glacier Park Inc. is the primary lodging concessionaire for the park and manages almost all reservations. For lodge and hotel reservations, call:

Park Lodges & Hotels

  • Apgar Village Lodge
    Located at the southern end of Lake McDonald the Apgar Village Lodge offers roughly 20 motel rooms and 30 cabins. Reservations: 406-888-5484.
  • Glacier Park Lodge
    Take a dip in Glacier Park Lodge’s heated outdoor pool and enjoy a round or two of golf at a nearby 9-hole golf course when you visit this 1915 western-themed lodge originally built for railroad crews on Glacier Park’s east side. Reservations: 406-892-2525.
  • Lake McDonald Lodge
    Enjoy lakeside lodge-style rooms, motel rooms, and small and large cottages to accommodate large groups at this very popular Glacier National Park lodging facility located on Lake McDonald on GNP’s west side. Reservations: 406-892-2525.
  • Many Glacier Hotel
    Built in 1915 by railroad crews, Many Glacier Hotel has a pioneer, nostalgic feel to it, but offers a comfortable and cozy ambience. Reservations: 406-892-2525.
  • Prince of Whales Hotel (Waterton National Park)
    Located above Waterton Lake, this 1927 Canadian hotel was built in a splendid Swiss Chalet style for railroad crews and remains a popular photography subject and favorite place to stay for many who visit Glacier National Park and return again. Reservations: 406-892-2525.
  • Rising Sun Motor Inn & Cottages
    Conveniently located about six miles off Glacier’s Going-to-the-Sun Road and adjacent to St. Mary’s Lake, Rising Sun Motor Inn & Cottage is a wonderful place to relax on your Glacier National Park adventure. Reservations: 406-892-2525.
  • Swiftcurrent Motor Inn & Cottages
    For those watching their budget closely, Swiftcurrent Motor Inn & Cottages is a great lodging solution that does not compromise on magnificent outdoor views and access to nearby fishing at Swiftcurrent Lake and hiking at Swiftcurrent Pass, Iceberg Lake, and Ptarmigan Tunnel. Reservations: 406-892-2525.
  • Village Inn at Apgar
    Bring the whole family and enjoy the kitchenettes and two-room units at Village Inn at Apgar built in 1956 after you explore Glacier’s Lake McDonald. Reservations: 406-892-2525.

Backcountry Chalets

  • Granite Park Chalet
    A backcountry historic landmark that is reached only by trail, the Granite Park Chalet is located near the Going to the Sun Road.
  • Sperry Chalet
    This backcountry chalet is accessible by trail from Lake McDonald. Nice lodging and great restaurant.

Park Campgrounds

Visitors to Glacier National Park can choose from 10 major campgrounds. While most campgrounds are first-come, first serve, you can make advanced reservations at two campgrounds: Fish Creek and St. Mary. Group site reservations are available at St. Mary and Apgar.   • Apgar 
    Location: Foot of Lake McDonald 
    Fee: $20 
    Amenities: An exquisite alpine setting with great fishing and boating access to Lake McDonald. Sites are for tents, RVs and combinations, as well as sites for hikers and cyclists. 196 sites. Flush toilets and disposal system. Full visitor facilities within walking distance.
  • Avalanche 
    Location: About four miles north of Lake McDonald 
    Fee: $20 
    Amenities: Great access to nearby Avalanche Lake trailhead as well as nearby service stations, grocery stores and restaurants at nearby Lake McDonald Lodge Sites are for tents, RVs and combinations, as well as for hikers and cyclists. 87 sites. Flush toilets and disposal system.
  • Bowman Lake 
    Location: Reached via dirt road when accessible in northwest corner of GNP at foot of Lake Bowman 
    Fee: $15 
    Amenities: A mostly primitive camping area with boat access to Bowman Lake. Sites are for tents (RVs not advised) as well as sites for hikers and cyclists. 48 sites.
  • Cut Bank 
    Location: East Side of Glacier
    Fee: $10 
    Amenities: Sites are for tents as well as for hikers and cyclists. 18 sites. Flush toilets.
  • Fish Creek 
    Location: About two miles from Apgar, near the foot of Lake McDonald 
    Fee: $23 per night general, $20 per night general, Hiker/Bicyclist $8.00/night, Group$53 $5 per person for first 9 campers 
    Amenities: Great alpine fishing and boating access to Lake McDonald. Sites are for tents, RVs and combinations, as well as sites for hikers and cyclists. 180 sites. Flush toilets and disposal system. Full visitor facilities available at Apgar.

  • Many Glacier 
    Location: Close to Swiftcurrent Lake 
    Fee: $20 
    Amenities: A pristine alpine setting with great boat access to Swiftcurrent Lake. Sites are for tents, RVs and combinations, as well as sites for hikers and cyclists. 110 sites. Flush toilets and disposal system. Full visitor facilities near Swiftcurrent Motor Inn & Cottages and Many Glacier Hotel, just a mile east.
  • Rising Sun 
    Location: On St. Mary Lake, six miles west of St. Mary 
    Fee: $20 
    Amenities: Great boating and fishing access to St. Mary Lake. Sites are for tents, RVs and combinations, as well as sites for hikers and cyclists. 83 sites. Flush toilets.
  • Sprague Creek 
    Location: On Lake McDonald, about eight miles from Apgar 
    Fee: $20 
    Amenities: Great fishing and boating access to Lake McDonald. Sites are for tents as well as sites for hikers and cyclists. Do not bring towed combinations. 25 sites. Flush toilets and a disposal system. Full visitor facilities a mile north at Lake McDonald Lodge.
  • St. Mary 
    Location: Foot of St. Mary Lake 
    Fee: $20 per night general, Hiker/Bicyclist $8.00/night, Group$53 $5 per person for first 9 campers 
    Amenities: Enjoy primitive camping most of the year. Great fishing. Sites are for tents, RVs and combinations, as well as sites for hikers and cyclists. 148 sites. Flush toilets and a disposal system. Full visitor facilities available just a mile east, in the town of St. Mary.

  • Two Medicine 
    Location: Close to the foot of Two Medicine Lake 
    Fee: $20 
    Amenities: Enjoy primitive camping and boat tours from Two Medicine Lake boat dock as long as weather permits. Great fishing and boating access to Two Medicine Lake. Sites are for tents, RVs and combinations, and sites for hikers and cyclists. 99 sites. Flush toilets and a disposal system. A nearby camp store offers various sundries, groceries, gifts and souvenirs.
