Glacier Vehicle Reservations

Starting in 2024, vehicles using the Going to the Sun road and the Many Glacier road are required to have advanced reservations.

Essentials for Your Visit

From May 24 to September 8, reservations are essential for accessing the west side of Going-to-the-Sun Road and North Fork between 6 am and 3 pm. Similarly, from July 1 to September 8, reservations are required for Many Glacier during the same hours. If you're planning to drive or ride through these areas during these dates, remember to have two things ready: (1) Either a vehicle reservation or a service reservation, and (2) Either the park entrance fee or a valid park pass (Annual, Senior, Military, etc.). Check out the details regarding entrance fees and passes below.

While the park remains open around the clock, visitors can enter the designated vehicle reservation areas before 6 am or after 3 pm without needing a vehicle reservation. Get more information about visiting without a reservation to make the most of your trip.

Already Planned Your Adventure?

If you've already secured lodging, camping, or booked a commercial activity such as boat tours or horseback rides within our designated reservation areas, you're all set! Your reservation confirmation serves as your ticket for entry, bypassing the need for a separate vehicle reservation. Check out the details below.

Reservation Release Dates for Vehicles

A selection of vehicle reservations becomes available 120 days in advance, approximately four months ahead of time. Mark your calendars for January 25, 2024, at 8 am MST to snag yours, with availability opening up on a rolling basis each day.

For those planning last-minute adventures, next-day vehicle reservations are up for grabs at 7 pm MDT starting May 23, 2024. Just another opportunity to secure your spot for some outdoor fun!

Remember, vehicle reservations are exclusively booked through Recreation.gov.
