Whitefish is a quaint four season recreation town. Visitors make Whitefish their destination in the winter to ski, snowboard, snowmobile, and snowshoe. In the summer the town is booming with opportunities to go hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, boating and fishing. The pace slows a bit in spring and fall which makes it a great place to visit if you just want to get away from it all and enjoy the natural beautiful outdoors of the area.

Whitefish, Montana is located at the northern end of Flathead Valley, only 15 miles north of Kalispell on Hwy 93. You can travel to this remote resort town by train, plane or car. The train depot sits just one block from downtown. Many lodges and other accommodations schedule pick ups at the depot for guests without cars. Glacier International Airport is located 14 miles from Whitefish. The airport mainly serves Kalispell and offers direct flights to and from Salt Lake City, Minneapolis, and Seattle. If you plan on driving to Whitefish, Hwy 93 and Hwy 2 are the main routes in between the town and Flathead Valley. The closest major interstate is south of Flathead Valley. Most of the roads are scenic windy mountain roads that take a little longer but offer much more amazing views and attractions.
