Waterton National Park, in the southwestern corner of the province of Alberta, Canada, borders Glacier National Park in Montana to the south. Together they make up Waterton Glacier International Peace Park, the first of its kind in the world.

Glacier and Waterton National Parks are open daily, year round. Glacier's visitor services, including hotels, tours, and restaurants, are available from late May through to September. Most Waterton visitor services are available from late May to mid-September.

Entrance Fees
Glacier: A seven-day permit costs $10 per vehicle and $5 per person for pedestrians or cyclists. An annual Glacier Park pass costs $20. U.S. citizens may purchase a Golden Eagle Passport 12-month pass for $50, good at any U.S. national park. U.S. citizens age 62 and over may purchase a Golden Age Passport to U.S. national parks for a one-time $10 fee. The Golden Access Passport is available free to U.S. citizens with disabilities. Passes are available at park entrance stations.

Waterton: An entrance fee is charged at the park entrance. Daily, multi-day, or annual permits can be purchased for individuals or groups. For adult groups, the daily fee is $8 CAN, the annual fee is $50 CAN. Senior and children's discounts are available. Please call (403) 859-5133 for further information.

A Note to U.S. and Canadian Travelers
Customs: U.S. and Canadian citizens are not required to carry passports to travel to either country. You may be asked, however, to present some form of identification at the border.

Speed limits: Canada uses the metric system, so be aware of speed limits when driving in Waterton. Speed limits are 45 mph on Glacier National Park roads unless otherwise posted.
