Bus Tours

Journeying through Glacier National Park is an exciting venture, with the Rocky Mountains providing stunning views, and the shimmering lakes and pristine forests inspiring one with their grandeur. Bus tours in the park offer the best of the best, taking you to scheduled stops where you can hike in Lake McDonald Valley, take some photographs of wildlife or taste regional cuisine.

When taking a bus tour of Glacier, you can sit in comfort in air-conditioned buses while learning facts on interpretive tours that not just everyone knows. National Park Shuttle Bus

Glacier National Park offers free transport to visitors to the park, allowing access to many destinations along the Going to the Sun Highway that bisects the park. This gives tourists the opportunity to see the park without having to fight traffic or experiencing parking problems. Simply park at Apgar Transit Center or St. Mary Visitor Center and hop on a shuttle.

Shuttles along the Going to the Sun Highway run every 15 or 30 minutes depending on time of day. The service is available between 7 am and 7 pm. There is two-way service between Apgar Center and St. Mary Visitor Center. Each bus stop provides interpretive and educational information about Glacier National Park, and here you can also find bus schedules posted.

Some of the most popular stops are Sprague Creek Campground on the shore of Lake McDonald, Lake McDonald Lodge, Avalanche Creek, Logan Pass, St. Mary Falls Shuttle Stop and Rising Sun Boat Dock. At each stop there are many activities, such as day hikes, boat tours, horseback riding and/or ranger programs.

It is possible to access other destinations within the park like Many Glacier, Cut Bank Creek and Two Medicine. You can take Glacier Park Inc.’s fee-based shuttles.
