West Glacier's proximity to Glacier Park and its location on the river spells an abundance of outdoor activities.

Glacier Park offers nearly a thousand miles of trails. There are many short day hikes that will take you into Glacier's back country or to mountain chalets. A few good choices include Avalanche Lake Trail, Trail of the Cedars, Granite Park Chalet, or the boardwalk at Logan Pass. Rest assured, however, that whatever you choose, you won't be disappointed.

Full solo or family fun is whitewater rafting and fly fishing adventures on Montana's Middle and North Forks of the Flathead Rivers bordering Glacier National Park. Seasoned guides bring their intimate knowledge of the rivers and years of experience to escort you through the natural beauty and wonder of Glacier Country.

There're some of Northwest Montana's finest trout fishing to be had here. With one of the nation's largest populations of native Westslope cutthroat trout along with rainbow trout and whitefish, there's a custom designed trip looking for your signature in the pristine waters surrounding Glacier National Park. Of course, the latest fishing equipment and the best local flies aren't something to worry your head about.

Accommodation, however, may be something to consider. There are many furnished log cabins to choose from, motels, hotels, and nearby camping sites.

You can also explore seldom visited and uniquely beautiful places here; six- and seven-day tours are individually tailored for small groups of four to six and include food, lodging, transportation and Native American cultural interpretation.

Select from activities like hiking, fishing, horseback riding, wildlife viewing, photography, ranching experiences, scenic helicopter and fixed-wing over-flights and bus tours.
