Weddings
Glacier National Park is the place for that special day, your wedding day.
There are several locations where wedding ceremonies are held in Glacier National Park. The more popular locations are the Apgar and Fish Creek Amphitheaters, and the Fish Creek picnic area during the weekdays. The Fish Creek Amphitheater is seldom available before June 10 and closes in early September.
The park has a number of historic hotels that offer not only the majestic scenery and infinite splendors of Glacier National Park, but also provide a full range of services that go towards ensuring a successful wedding and seamless reception.
The hotels are as unique as your wedding. There are four stunning locations - Glacier Park Lodge in East Glacier, Montana; Lake McDonald Lodge on the west side of the Park; Many Glacier Hotel on the east side of the Park; and the Prince of Wales Hotel in Waterton, Alberta, Canada.
Professional special events coordinators are available to help you select the appropriate location and services to make your wedding a truly special occasion. Everything will be taken care of down to the details such as the wedding cake, floral arrangements, table décor, candles, balloons, the bridal bouquet, changing rooms for the wedding party, menu staging, reception line, wedding guest favors, ceremony music, guest souvenir menus, the band, minister, flowers, and the photographer;.
Before and after the happy day, there are a number of things to enjoy at Glacier National park. These activities include but are not limited to boating, biking, camping, canoeing, climbing, fishing, hiking, photography, cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, swimming, and wildlife watching.
Depending on the season, Glacier National Park is a wilderness landscape full of wildflowers. Indeed, the alpine areas provide the setting for some of the best wildflower displays in North America. It is a short-lived spectacle made glorious by heather, gentian, beargrass, and glacier lily. East of the divide, where the plains roll up to the mountains, pasque flower, lupine, Indian paintbrush, gaillardia, asters, and shooting stars paint the prairie.
The Going-to-the-Sun Road is an experience to remember. Bisecting the heart of Glacier, this 50 mile long road follows the shores of the park's two largest lakes and hugs the cliffs below the Continental Divide as it traverses Logan Pass. Numerous scenic turnouts and wayside exhibits allow travelers to stop and enjoy the park at their own pace.
