Hours & Seasons
Planning your trip to Glacier National Park is a breeze when you have all the information as to hours and seasons for the park. It saves much time, which is important so you can fit in all the outdoor activity possible. Here you’ll also find information on the campgrounds and when open.
Glacier National Park is open all year to accommodate your vacation. Of course, in the winter, the weather will dictate when many facilities will be open. The very best time to visit Glacier National Park is from late in May to early September. However, since this is the most crowded time, others prefer to come when it’s a little quieter. Late September and the month of October can be wonderful, but realize there won’t be the facilities available to you as in the peak months.
Overnight temperatures can drop low at any time of year, even in August. Be prepared and pack right. Bring a parka for the cold nights. Always bring your raingear, too.
You will want to make any lodging reservations well in advance as these fill up quickly, particularly in the spring and summer.
