With more than 700 miles to explore, lace up your boots and follow these general Glacier National Park trail guidelines:
- Weather - Changeable! Pack extra clothing.
- Trail Conditions - Due to high elevations and cold winters, snow-melt often stretches into mid-summer; Glacier Park trail accessibility may be limited early season.
- Bears - Glacier is primary grizzly habitat. Carry bear spray and be bear aware.
- Sustenance - Carry enough food and water/water filters to support your hike.
- Low Impact -Stay on designated trails. No littering!
- Pets -No pets allowed on Glacier hiking trails.

Hidden Lake Overlook Trail
- Overview: High atop Logan Pass, this trail offers unobstructed views of The Garden Wall and more.
- Trailhead: Take Going To The Sun Road to Logan Pass Visitors Center. (Parking lot fills quickly!)
- Details: Meadows full of wildflowers in summer; mountain goats commonly spotted. Boardwalk for beginning portion. Excellent family hike.
- Distance: 1.5 miles (3 roundtrip)
- Average Time: 1 – 1.5 hrs
- Ascent: 460 ft
- Difficulty: Easy
- Trail Type: Out-and-back
Grinnell Glacier Trail
- Overview: Located in the Many Glacier area, this trail gives hikers the opportunity to step out onto a real glacier.
- Trailhead: Located just down the road from the Many Glacier Hotel.
- Details: This trail incorporates a diverse range of natural beauty; view Mount Gould, The Salamander, and walk onto Grinnell Glacier.
- Distance: 6 miles (one-way)
- Average Time: 3-4 hrs
- Ascent: 1600 ft
- Difficulty: Easy - Moderate
- Trail Type: One-way
