Hikers just north of the 49th parallel will find creeks and rivers rushing down slopes to southern Kootenay. Cranbrooks's deer, elk, black and grizzly bears cohabitate with everything from eagles and hummingbirds to goats and mountain sheep. Don't forget to look for wolves, cougar and, of course, moose.
