Rollins, Montana is a quaint resort town, founded in the early 1900s. Sitting along the west shore of Flathead Lake it has direct access to beaches and panoramic views of mountains in Glacier National Park. This little village is a great home base for visitors who are seeking to complete their adventure with spending time in the great outdoors.

Rollins, MT is within close proximity to a handful of remote parks, wilderness areas, and wild and scenic rivers. Flathead National Forest, Bob Marshall, Great Bear, and Mission Mountain wilderness areas all provide fantastic settings for hiking, fishing, horseback riding, skiing, and snowmobiling. Summer activities in the Rollins area are endless including mountain biking, white water rafting or kayaking, golfing on championship golf courses, swimming, water skiing, boating, sailing, sea kayaking, and fishing. Fall brings hunting enthusiasts who seek trophy white tail and mule deer, elk, moose, black bear, bighorn sheep, and mountain goat.

Flathead Lake is the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. It spans 28 miles by 15 miles and is home to numerous islands. The lake welcomes water crafts of all kinds and fishing is world class. Fish like rainbow, cutthroat, bull, lake, and brook trout, as well as arctic grayling, bass, perch, and pike frequent its waters. Directly across from Rollins, Wild Horse Island is a state park that is accessible only by boat and open in day light hours only. It is a fantastic quick getaway to go on a day hike or enjoy the wildflowers and marvelous views.

Glacier National Park sits just northeast of Flathead Lake and is a common destination for visitors to the area. Visit its breathtaking peaks and glaciers and travel through its many waterfalls and forested areas. Glacier welcomes hikers and backpackers to enjoy over 700 miles of trails and view a variety of critters like deer, elk, moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, wolves, grizzlies, and black bears. The Going-to-the-Sun road climbs 3,000 feet and is 52 miles long. It is the most visited road in the park offering views over the Continental Divide. Visit one of the three visitor centers for more information and suggestions for day or multi-day visits.

Get your bearings. Flathead Lake is located in the northwest region of Montana. Rollins sits on the western side of Flathead Lake along US 93 between Polson and Lakeside. US 93 runs from Whitefish to Missoula, bordering the lake along its western shores. The eastern shore is bordered by Montana Highway 35 which begins more or less in Kalispell and travels to Missoula as well. US 2 borders the northern edge of Flathead Lake linking Libby to Glacier National Park. If you are flying into Glacier International Airport, FCA, the easiest way to reach Rollins is via US 93, about a thirty minute drive.
