It is easy to quickly escape crowds around Flathead Lake. Many hiking and biking trails are just minutes from Bigfork and offer views overlooking the lake and nearby mountain ranges. The lake itself is a popular destination for all water enthusiasts. Fishing, waterskiing, canoeing, sea kayaking, and sailing are just a few of the activities you can enjoy on this vast body of water.
Bigfork is accessible by US highways 2 and 93, as well as MT state highways 35, 82, and 83. Interstate 90 is close as well. Glacier Park International Airport is located north of Bigfork in Kalispell and Amtrak runs through Whitefish and West Glacier. With such proximity to Glacier National Park, it is a common destination for travelers. Travel through peaks, valleys and ridges and enjoy views of fifty active glaciers. Waterfalls, forests and lakes are your constant surroundings and it is common to see critters like deer, moose, elk, mountain goats, bighorn sheep, wolves, grizzly and black bear romping around.
