First Night Flathead
What a great way to ring in the New Year. Celebrate First Night in Kalispell, Montana. First Night had it's origin in Boston in 1976 when the city chose to have this type of celebration as a finale to celebration of our nation's bicentennial. It was such a huge success that Bostonians kept producing it and in the years since it has spread to about 250 cities in North America and around the world.
First Night is an alcohol free community celebration of the New Year. It takes place in various venues around the city. All the venues are within easy walking distance from one another. For the price of $5 you can receive a First Night Button that allows you to attend any or all of the sites.
You never know for sure what each year will bring, but you can be assured that there will be lots of live musical performers, some dancers, some poetry and stories, some art , and various other types of entertainment.
