Blacktail Mountain rises above Flathead Lake and provides fantastic views. It is on this friendly mountain, that sledders take their rides to the limit as they compete in this hill climb challenge. The hill climb course follows a very steep route that, near the summit, becomes nearly perpendicular to the surrounding landscape. If a hill climber loses control of his sled near the upper portion of this climb, he is likely to tumble hundreds of feet back downhill.
The Blacktail Mountain Snowmobile Hillclimb Races present a challenge not only for the rider, but also for the spectator. Due to the steep terrain, it is very difficult to even stand in many of the prime viewing areas. Check the schedule and make sure that you don't miss this thrilling event.
