Bigfork Elves Decorate for Christmas
Ever wonder what all of Santa's elves are doing for the rest of the year – when they're not making toys for all the good little girls and boys? Well, in November, a large group of them gather together in Bigfork, Montana to decorate the town.
Right after Thanksgiving, hundred of "Elves" meet at the one of the local lodging establishments and then scatter through the village decorating for the upcoming holiday season. This tradition has actually created national media attention. When the "Elves" have completed their decorating, Bigfork's streets are lined with live Christmas trees, bright red and green bows, and thousands of twinkling, sparkling lights. This marks the official beginning of the holiday season and the spirit of the season can be felt everywhere. There are usually horse drawn sleigh rides and an art walk as part of the festivities.
