Where is Glacier National Park?
Glacier National Park is located in northern Montana along the US-Canada border.
Where are the closest airports and distances?
Glacier International Airport (FCA) is located in Kalispell, Montana and served by Delta Sky West, Alaska Horizon Air, United, and Allegiant Air and provides service to many major cities in the US including Seattle, San Fransisco, Denver, Chicago, and Salt Lake City. The Lethbridge Alberta Airport(YQL) in Canada is about 2.5 hours from Glacier and Missoula Montana Airport (MSO) is 3 hours south. More information on Transportation to Glacier.
When is Glacier National Park open?
Glacier NP is open year-round although a handful of visitor centers, facilities and services close for the winter. Parts of the Going to the Sun Road are open in the winter but plowing of the road officially starts in April. Information on Hours & Seasons.
How much does it cost to enter Glacier National Park?
Entrance fees cost $25 per vehicle, which is good for 7 days for access to Acadia National Park. Bikers, hikers, and motorcyclists can enter for $12 per person. You can also purchase an Annual Pass for Acadia for $35 or for all National Parks for $80. More info on Rates and Permits.
Can I bring my pet into the park?
Pets must be on leash at all times and are only allowed in certain areas.
Do I need a car to see the park?
The park is best seen by using your own two wheels but there are many sightseeing and transportation services available. Take a look at the Red Jammer Buses and Sightseeing Tours.
How much time do I need to see the park?
Visitors to Glacier can usually see most of the area highlights in roughly 3-4 days but there are so many hiking trails that you could easily spend weeks exploring this park. Glacier Highlights.
What lodging and campgrounds are available in the park?
Glacier has a number of lodges and cabins as well as 13 campgrounds. Reservations are recommended for lodge rooms.
