Bigfork Montana MT

Bigfork, Montana is located in the northeast corner of serene and beautiful Flathead Lake. Known as the "Village by the Bay," it greets the wild and scenic Swan River as it enters the lake. Views of mountain ranges, lapping lake waves, and greenery surround this quaint town.

Events like the White Water Race on "Wild Mile" of the Swan River in May and the Bigfork Festival of the Arts in August are not to be missed. Tamarack Times Festival in October and the highly decorated Christmas Season are also fantastic.

It is easy to quickly escape crowds around Flathead Lake. Many hiking and biking trails are just minutes from Bigfork and offer views overlooking the lake and nearby mountain ranges. The lake itself is a popular destination for all water enthusiasts. Fishing, waterskiing, canoeing, sea kayaking, and sailing are just a few of the activities you can enjoy on this vast body of water.

Bigfork is accessible by US highways 2 and 93, as well as MT state highways 35, 82, and 83. Interstate 90 is close as well. Glacier Park International Airport is located north of Bigfork in Kalispell and Amtrak runs through Whitefish and West Glacier. With such proximity to Glacier National Park, it is a common destination for travelers. Travel through peaks, valleys and ridges and enjoy views of fifty active glaciers. Waterfalls, forests and lakes are your constant surroundings and it is common to see critters like deer, moose, elk, mountain goats, bighorn sheep, wolves, grizzly and black bear romping around.
