Museum of The Plains Indian

The Museum of the Plains Indian was founded in 1941 and displays a wide variety of arts of Northern Plains tribal peoples including the Blackfeet, Crow, Northern Cheyenne, Sioux, Assiniboine, Arapaho, Shoshone, Nez Perce, Flathead, Chippewa, and Cree.

The Museum is located at the junction of US Highway 2 and US Highway 89 just west of Browning, Montana. Browning is the eastern gateway town to Glacier National Park, but you should take time to visit the museum prior to heading in to the Park. There is an admission fee based on age and you should be aware that the Museum of the Plains Indians is not a part of the National Park Service and does not accept Park Passes of any kind.

The Museum features a historic collection of arts created by the tribal people of the Northern Plains. The exhibits include a five-screen multimedia presentation, three dioramas and carved wood panels by Blackfeet sculptor John Clarke.

    Children (6-12): $1
    Senior (over 65): $3
  • Winter (from Oct. 1 - May 30)
    Monday through Friday 10am-4:30pm
