Glacier National Park covers an area over 1,000,000 acres in the northwest part of Montana. It preserves a multitude of forests, alpine meadows, and lakes. The diverse habitats found in Glacier National Park are home to over 70 species of mammals and over 260 species of birds. The spectacular glacier carved landscape is a hiker's paradise containing 700 miles of maintained trails that lead deep into one of the largest intact ecosystems in the lower 48 states.
In addition to the preservation of natural resources, the Park preserves 350 structures which are listed on the National Register of Historic Sites and six National Historic Landmarks.
Due to its vast area and varying terrain, there are any number of activities and attractions that bring tourists to this region. These include backcountry camping, backcountry skiing, big game hunting, bird watching, bow hunting, camping, climbing, cross-country skiing, fly fishing for trout, hiking, horseback riding, photography interests, snowshoeing, walking, whitewater rafting, and wildlife viewing.

They will also be able to provide you with information on activities provided by park concessionaires such as, bus tours, guided backpacking trips, boat tours and rentals, and horseback rides.
