A national park in Montana, Glacier National Park was established on May 11, 1910 by an act of the United States Congress.

Glacier Park boasts about 1,584 mi² (4101 sq. km) of forest, mountains, and lakes. Sitting on the border of Waterton Lakes National Park in Canada, Glacier Park was designated an international peace park in 1932. Both parks were also designated Biosphere Reserves in 1976 and World Heritage sites in 1995. Together they are called the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park.

Triple Divide Peak is a mountain dividing the Pacific Ocean, Hudson Bay, and the Gulf of Mexico watersheds. The western boundary of the park is formed by the north fork of the Flathead River.

You can find Waterton Lakes National Park in the southwest corner of Alberta, Canada. As mentioned earlier, it borders Glacier National Park in Montana, USA.

Waterton Lakes National Park was formed in 1895, and was Canada's fourth national park at the time. It was named after Waterton Lakes. The park contains about 203 mi² (525 km²) of rocky mountains and untamed wilderness.

In 1932 the Canadian and American parks were united by Rotary International members from Alberta and Montana. The world's first International Peace Park, it has come to symbolize peace and friendship between the two countries. Even today the international park is the only one in the world established with those two themes as the main purpose of the park.

The park is officially operated by Parks Canada. It's open all year round, although most people come to the park in July and August. The few commercial facilities that exist in the park can be found at the Waterton Park town site. The park has an elevation of 1,290 m (4,230ft) at the town site, and 2,920 m (9,580 ft) at Mount Blakiston. It offers a plethora of beautiful trails, such as the scenic Crypt Lake trail.
